Silence The Tolling Bells

by Arthur T. Vallas (my cousin)

Ring in all the good and ring out the sorrow.
Remember fondly days gone by
Forget the pain and reasons why.
Ring out your poignant feelings for tomorrow.

Ring in peace and harmony for all nations
People laughing instead of crying.
People living instead of dying.
Ring out the suffering and tribulations.

Ring in a new year of hope without despair.
Believing in one another
Like a sister or a brother
Ring out the history of foreign warfare.

On lives the memory of the falling towers
We have the right to defend them.
Our leaders we should not condemn.
On lives the rage and the pain that empowers.

Silence the tolling bells of war forever
Respect all life and living space,
Despite beliefs, gender, or race.
The synchronization of minds so clever.
