Enemy Fire

By Arthur T. Vallas (my Cousin)
Written for a highschool English class assignment.

Bullets flying past
Enemies moving fast
My eyes are blurry
My Enemies shooting with furry

Noise all around me
I’m running very swiftly
My knees fall beneath me
I fall to the ground
Perched upon a mound
Soaking in the rain
I cry out with pain
Feeling my blood flowing
Through the open wounds
Thinking it’s a sniper … Knowing
Buildings lay in front of me
Searching for the sniper
Spotting him suddenly
Looking through his scope
He is praying for hope
Crawling down a hill
Sniper hoping for a kill
A second shot is fired
My body is growing tired
In my mind I know
This rain will soon turn to snow
And I will be left for dead
Or unfortunately shot in my head
Hours flying past
My adrenalin rushing fast
Looking back through my past
Wondering what I have done
Into this person that I have become…
